Minutes of Meeting of 10th November 2003

The minutes of the October meeting were approved.
Matters Arising: B. McGovern unable to attend “Friends of the Pentlands Society” meeting, A. Clark will try to go in her place. Action on going regarding the modification to Balerno CC statement on C.E.C congestion charging scheme.
The Weavers Knowe pub is now once again closed for business. B. McGovern highlighted the safety concerns on the section of Riccarton Mains Road from the round-about to the university, Cllr A. Paisley to take this problem up with the appropriate C.E.C department.
· A. Paisley informed the meeting that he was unable to continue to have the minutes typed, photo copied and distributed due to the fact that C.E.C stated that our annual grant should be used for this purpose. After some discussion it was decided that in future Jemma Ward would take on this duty and a monthly fee of £10.00 would be paid for this service.
· It was decided as the Woodhall Grain Hill development was next to our area that A. Clark attends the public enquiry on 16th Feb.
· Ownership of Pentalnd View area to be established.
· There now seems to be some doubt regarding the proposed traffic system for the Kinleith Mill Development at the junction of Blinkbonny Road and Lanark Road.
Education: Nothing to report
Environment: B. McGovern submitted a report and gave a summary of its contents.
Planning: A. Clark submitted a report and gave a summary of its contents. A developer has invited us to discuss issues relating to Kinleith Mill. A Clark and J McCraith to attend a meeting with them.
Cllr A. Paisley and A. Clark to attend a meeting with a developer discussing future planning in the Currie area.
Transport: McCraith submitted a report and gave a summary of its contents. A discussion was taken to purchase the book “Edinburgh Transport Saga”.
Flower Tubs: Nothing to report.
Health: G. Browne to attend two meetings
