| In July 2009, City of Edinburgh Ccouncil invited comments on open space provision across
Edinburgh. As the results will be important for amending future City Development Plans, Currie Community Council responded by: |
|
1. highlighting the importance of the buffer areas at each end of the built-up area (even though they are currently identified as agricultural land); 2. identifying the Kinleith Mill site (as an area that needs improvement); 3. identifying a "civic centre" for Currie; 4. mentioning the "country path" crossing the Muirwood Field; 5. agreeing that the triangular area opposite the substation at Riccarton Mains Road has significance; 6. identifying the Poet's Glen as an area for inclusion; and 7. highlighting that the Currie Kirk cemetery has been omitted from the Audit." |
